Japan Trip Planners Affiliate Contract
Effective date: July 18, 2026. This affiliate contract agreement is a legally binding document that defines the relationship between Japan Trip Planners and an individual or company promoting its products in exchange for a commission. It governs participation in the Japan Trip Planners affiliate program for approved partners.
1. Program participation
Approved affiliates may promote Japan Trip Planners using assigned referral links, discount codes, approved creative assets, and accurate descriptions of the products. Japan Trip Planners may approve, decline, suspend, or remove an affiliate account when needed to protect travelers, customers, the brand, or the program.
2. Commission structure and eligibility
Affiliates earn commission on eligible tracked sales according to the published commission tiers: 30% for the entry tier, 35% for the current middle tier, and 40% for the top tier when the applicable eligible lifetime-sales threshold is reached. Commissions are earned only on eligible purchases attributed through approved tracking links or codes, and only when the purchase is not refunded, charged back, fraudulent, self-referred, or otherwise disqualified under these terms.
3. Sales and Premium renewals
A sale means a qualifying purchase made by a customer for a Japan Trip Planners Premium subscription or travel guide purchase. A monthly or yearly Premium renewal payment is not classified as a sale, will not earn an affiliate commission, and will not be counted toward the affiliate's total sales or commission tier. Affiliates may direct customers toward yearly or lifetime Premium memberships when appropriate because those initial purchases may provide a higher commission opportunity than a monthly membership.
4. Payment schedule and threshold
Commission payments are processed monthly after an affiliate reaches the minimum payout threshold of $10 USD. Once the threshold is met, commissions approved for the previous calendar month are scheduled for payment on the 15th day of the following month. Payments may be delayed slightly when the scheduled date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, or when a payment provider requires additional processing time. Japan Trip Planners may hold, reverse, or withhold commissions connected to refunds, chargebacks, fraud, self-referrals, policy violations, duplicate tracking, or transactions that cannot be verified.
5. Cookie window
Affiliate referrals use a 90-day cookie window when tracking is available. If a customer clears cookies, changes devices, uses another affiliate link, or completes a purchase outside the tracked path, attribution may not be available.
6. Required disclosures
Affiliates must clearly disclose affiliate relationships anywhere Japan Trip Planners is promoted. Disclosures must be easy for travelers to see before they click a link or make a purchase.
7. Permitted promotion
Affiliates may show accurate screenshots, screen recordings, or video captures taken directly from the Japan Trip Planners website or application, including the itinerary planner, interactive map, travel guides, and other available product experiences. Demonstrations must be truthful, must not expose private customer information, and must not imply that unfinished features are available when they are not.
8. Prohibited promotion
Affiliates may not use misleading claims, fake discounts, unauthorized coupons, spam, forced clicks, cookie stuffing, paid ads that impersonate Japan Trip Planners, trademark bidding without written approval, copied website content, or any promotion that could confuse travelers about the relationship between the affiliate and Japan Trip Planners. Affiliates may not promote Japan Trip Planners through illegal activity or through content, words, images, or actions that are hateful, racist, prejudiced, discriminatory, sexually explicit, obscene, abusive, disgusting, threatening, or otherwise materially offensive. Affiliates must not encourage violence, harassment, fraud, discrimination, or unlawful conduct.
9. Brand and content standards
Affiliates must present Japan Trip Planners honestly and professionally. Product descriptions, pricing, availability, screenshots, and claims should be accurate and updated when program materials change.
10. Independent contractor relationship
Affiliates are independent contractors and are not employees, agents, franchisees, or legal representatives of Japan Trip Planners. Affiliates are responsible for their own taxes, business obligations, and compliance requirements.
11. Withdrawal and account deletion
An affiliate may withdraw from the affiliate program at any time by deleting the affiliate account through the available account controls or by contacting Japan Trip Planners. When an affiliate withdraws or deletes the affiliate account, any unpaid commissions, including commissions below the $10 USD payout threshold, are forfeited unless Japan Trip Planners is legally required to pay them. A former affiliate may submit another application later, but approval is not guaranteed.
12. Suspension and termination
Japan Trip Planners may suspend or terminate affiliate participation when an affiliate violates this contract, applicable law, program standards, or the interests of travelers and customers. After termination, the affiliate must stop using Japan Trip Planners referral links, discount codes, creative assets, and brand materials unless written permission is provided.
13. Updates to these terms
This contract and the affiliate program terms may be changed, edited, or replaced by Japan Trip Planners at any time. Japan Trip Planners will provide affiliates with clear notice of material changes. After receiving notice, an affiliate may withdraw from the program by deleting the affiliate account. Continued participation after the effective date of an update means the affiliate accepts the updated terms. Any unpaid commissions are handled under the withdrawal and payment provisions above.
Acceptance
By submitting an affiliate application or continuing to use affiliate links after approval, the affiliate acknowledges and agrees to these terms.
